New York, Stati Uniti, Documenti dell’orfanotrofio ebraico per neonati, 1895-1927

L’orfanotrofio ebraico di New York (New York Hebrew Orphan Asylum) venne fondato nel 1860 dalla Hebrew Benevolent Society, una società che già si occupava degli orfani ebrei. Successivamente si fuse con la Jewish Child Care Association.

This database contains records of children admitted to or discharged from the New York Hebrew Infant Asylum, which was established in 1895. The database also contains city billing records and physician reports. Records may include the following information:

  • Name

  • Date of admission or discharge

  • Gender

  • Age and/or birth date

  • Birthplace

  • Names of parents

Please note that ages or birthdates may not be accurate. Some orphans returned to the orphanage several times and may be found in the records more than once.

Ancestry.com has reproduced these records courtesy of the American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS) where this collection is available on microfilm.
